Calcarea Carbonica
Wednesday, September 30, 2009 at 11:26AM The remedy homeopaths call Calcera carbonica, or calc carb, is in essence, just plain old limestone—the same stuff your grandfather sprinkled around his garden. Chemically, it’s known as calcium carbonate and is found in seashells, egg shells and rocks.
The Calcarea Physiology
Calcarea people are usually described as “pudgy” or “flabby”. They get little exercise and their bodies show it. Their muscles are untoned and weak. These folks tire easily and hate exercise. They are not the folks you see out jogging at 6 a.m.
The Calcarea Personality
The hallmark of the calcarea personality is its stubbornness. Normally, these souls are easy-going and extremely even-tempered. They do not anger easily and never resort to hysterics to achieve their goals. However, they can be extremely stubborn when they pushed.
Any characteristic of the calcarea soul is dependability. They may be slow movers these are the folks you turn to when you have to get something finished. Don’t mistake their plodding for dim-wittedness.
Calcarea Carbonica in Homeopathic Medicine
In homeopathy, calcarea is most often used to correct underlying weaknesses, as opposed to being used to treat sudden or acute symptoms. Any condition made worse by cold air, dampness or movement is a candidate for calcarea.
Some older homeopathic texts also recommend calcarea be given during the full moon.
